Amina's Story Amina is a bright and determined little girl. Just a few years ago, getting an education was an uphill battle for Amina because of the long and tiring walk every day to the nearest primary school. She would often miss classes due to arriving late and struggled to keep up in class, so she stopped going to school. When EdUKaid helped establish a pre-primary satellite class in her village, Amina could attend school every day without the exhausting journey. She was able to attend regularly and has learned to read and write. “I know how to read and write and I will join Primary School,” she says, proudly. Now at seven years old, Amina is thriving, finishing first out of 101 students in her class assessments. Her teachers admire her exceptional reading skills and her growing vocabulary in both Kiswahili and English. “Now I help my friends when they get stuck in class,” she says. Her story shows how access to education—even the smallest change, like a classroom closer to home—can transform a child’s future and create hope for an entire community. Manage Cookie Preferences
