In 2017 we introduced a pilot mock examination programme designed to help standard 7 pupils prepare for their formal assessments.  As a result, we saw a significant increase in the number of children sitting their final assessment and successfully moving on to secondary school.   

The pilot was such a success that we have now fully launched the programme and last week nearly 800 pupils from across all 16 of our partner primary schools began their mock examinations covering Swahili, English maths and science.  

  

  

As only 30% of children get the chance to go to secondary school we believe that this programme will dramatically improve the opportunities of the children living in poor, rural Mtwara.
