A former EdUKaid trustee from 2011 until 2022, John is passionate about education and committed to EdUKaid's mission  for  a  world  where  every  child  has  access  to  the  education  they  need  to  realise  their  full  potential  and  attain  the  skills  to  improve  their  life’s  circumstances.

After graduating from Trinity College, Cambridge, John Cox taught English in schools in Shropshire, Suffolk and London. At Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury, he was Head of English and later Assistant Head teacher and directed over fifty dramatic and musical productions. He retired in 2010 but lectures on English Literature at Sarum College. 

He is a governor of the Sarum St. Michael Trust and a board member of La Folia (formerly Sarum Orchestra). He previously served as a trustee of a Development Charity operating in Tanzania and has travelled widely in Africa.
