In southern Tanzania, girls face huge barriers to accessing education due to poor, undignified sanitation facilities, a lack of understanding of their rights and harmful cultural beliefs. As a result, less than 1 in 100 girls gets to complete her education - most dropping out when they reach puberty. Girls who drop out of school are at significantly more risk of exploitation and abuse with teenage girls often pregnant or married when still children themselves.

EdUKaid helps girls remain in education and achieve their full potential through a range of initiatives including preparing girls for puberty, building washrooms and educating communities about the benefits of keeping girls in school.

We would be thrilled if we are able to use our anniversary celebrations to make a difference to girls in Tanzania and we would really appreciate it if friends and family would consider making a donation, however small, so that girls can have the chance of a better life.

How we can make a difference:

£5 would pay for enough material for girls to make 25 reusable sanitary pads

£10 would provide enough soap for a school washroom for 6 months

£25 would buy sports equipment for a Girls Club benefiting 100+ girls

£50 would provide menstrual heath education for 100+ girls for a year
