£24,220 raised!

An incredible £24,220 was raised for EdUKaid at the 2023 Golf Day and Great Vending Get Together.  Sponsored by 365 Retail Markets, this was the 12th annual charity ball and auction in support of EdUKaid and our second time at the beautiful Ardencote Manor Hotel and Spa.

Golf in the sunshine

The day began with golfers enjoying breakfast sponsored by Suresite Connex and teeing off in beautiful sunshine.  DoozyMonster, Britvic, SuntoryCarabao, Mondelēz and Automatic Retailing provided refreshments and lunch was sponsored by Rhea Vendors.  Prizes sponsored by Barry Callebaut were awarded for the top scoring golfer and team as well as longest drive and nearest the pin sponsored by SB Software and Lyons Coffee.

Dinner and auction

Doozy’s CEO and Chair of EdUKaid Tim Varney opened the evening with a video of colleagues from the vending industry showing their competitive side at Beyaz Villas in Turkey.  Tim went on to share a moving presentation which ended with a standing ovation showing what EdUKaid has achieved over the past 20 years and acknowledging the generosity of the vending industry - previously contributing over £200,000 to the charity.

Prize winning balloons sponsored by Coffetek and Suntory were sold to guests, filling the room with colour.  After a lavish 3 course dinner, Tim Varney conducted a lively auction including fantastic prizes donated by Kepak, NVCS Ltd, Beyaz Villas and Mondelēz.  Guests also had the opportunity to bid on some fabulous items in a silent auction including several Makonde Carvings from Tanzania and prizes donated by Tower Leasing, MannVend and Graddon Vending.  To top off the evening, Tim was presented with a cheque for £2,000 from NIVO.

Tim told us ‘I continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of my colleagues in the vending industry – year after year they show incredible support for EdUKaid’s work transforming the lives of some of the world’s most disadvantaged children.  We have seen for ourselves the incredible impact that EdUKaid achieve and the difference that the vending industry are achieving by supporting events like this’.

The fun filled evening concluded with Salisbury band The Deloreons sponsored by Cantaloupe and some fabulous moves on the dance floor.
