£30,000 raised

An incredible £30,000 was raised for EdUKaid at the 2021 AVS Golf Day and Great Vending Get Together Ball.  The annual event hosted by Tim and Sarah Varney from Doozy was held at the iconic Belfry Golf Course and Hotel.  This was the 10th charity ball and auction in support of EdUKaid but the first time we have teamed up with Associated Vending Services

World famous Brabazon course

The day began with 72 golfers teeing off on the famous Brabazon course, former home of the Ryder Cup.  Vending suppliers and operators sponsored holes and iPro Hydrate provided refreshments at the halfway point.  Money was also raised on the putting green and through buggy hire.

Doozy’s CEO and Chair of EdUKaid Tim Varney opened the evening with a moving presentation by showing images of EdUKaid’s work in Tanzania.  Tim was able to show guests the incredible impact the Vending Industry has achieved through their generosity previously contributing over £150,000 to the charity.

Dinner and auction

After a lavish 3 course dinner, NIVO’s Managing Director Graham Kingaby conducted a lively auction including a holiday at Beyaz Villas in Turkey provided by Sarah and Tim Varney and an Executive Box at Old Trafford donated by Kepak. Tim was presented with a cheque for £2,000 from the recent NIVO golf day and Three Square Market announced their donation of $,5000 and committed to donate the same amount for a further 2 years.  Tower Leasing, H2O Direct, Options Management and Cymraeg Vending all committed to sponsor 5 of EdUKaid’s pre-primary classes over the next year providing over 600 children with an education.

I continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of my colleagues in the vending industry

Tim told us ‘I continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of my colleagues in the vending industry – year after year they show incredible support for EdUKaid’s work transforming the lives of some of the world’s most disadvantaged children.  We have seen for ourselves the incredible impact that EdUKaid achieve and the difference that the vending industry are achieving by supporting events like this’.  The fun filled evening concluded with live band Detroit Soul Collective and some fabulous moves on the dance floor.
