The children of St Louis Catholic Primary School put pen to paper this month to tell children at their link school about living in the UK during lockdown.  These letters were sent electronically to Mkangala Primary School via the EdUKaid team and were received by a very excited class 4.

As part of EdUKaid's School Link scheme, children in the UK and Tanzania have been encouraged to share their experiences of school closures, social distancing and general restrictions so they can learn about the global impact of the pandemic - understanding what they have in common and what challenges children in these two countries face.

Pupils from St Louis wrote about the wearing of masks, the need to keep hands clean and the challenges of learning from home.

I liked doing work at home because mum and dad could see how I was doing but it was weird going out and seeing people queuing to get in shops and wearing face masks.

In January children from Mkangala will be writing letters back about their own experience of the four month school closure and the challenges of learning when you have no internet, computer or even books in Tanzania.
