Georgia-Lee Slater Georgia joined EdUKaid as a volunteer for our newly formed marketing and comms team to accompany her Master’s in International Development with Conflict and Humanitarian Action. She is an advocate for promoting inclusion and diversity in the field of development and believes improving accessibility in the classroom is the starting point for this change. Prior to working here at EdUKaid, Georgia attained a BA (Hons) in Politics and Spanish with a year abroad from the University of Bath. Here, she completed her dissertation on policy surrounding pornography and its implications to both women and children in the UK. During her year abroad, she interned at a digital news outlet in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she wrote articles on volunteering opportunities in the area and interviewed various NGOs. This time abroad motivated her to pursue a career in international development. Additionally, having been educated in Spain, Georgia appreciates the importance of quality education for children of all backgrounds. That being the case, our concentrated efforts at creating an engaging and accessible space for learning motivated Georgia to join our team. Georgia and the rest of our new team aim to keep our social media up-to-date and exciting, whilst researching and writing new content for our Blog. So, watch this space!
