Just 17 years old, Jake Kingston took on the challenge of a lifetime - parachuting from a plane at 13,000 feet to raise money for EdUKaid.

Why take on such a challenge?

Jake was given the opportunity to go to Tanzania in 2021/22 to help build a school for underprivileged children. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to go due to COVID. Instead he volunteered to renovate a school in Cambodia and saw the benefit that it had on the community and children. It was this experience that motivated Jake to take on this challenge as he felt every child should have the chance of a decent education.

Fourth time lucky

Originally the jump at Hinton Skydiving Centre was planned for 23rd December but it was postponed sue to bad weather.  After two more postponements, Jake finally jumped on 22nd January.  Jake told us:

I was nervous but excited beforehand, it was brilliant.  Enjoyed every minute and would do it again.

Money raised so far

So far, Jake has raised an amazing £556 plus £108 in gift aid - a whopping 278% above his original target!  This money will pay for a pre-primary teacher's salary for almost 8 months providing 100+ children with the education they so desperately need.

Shout out on Graham Norton Show

As well as raising an incredible amount of money, Jake and his family managed to get his challenge and EdUKaid mention on Graham Norton's Virgin Radio Show twice!!!
