29th January 2018

I have always been a keen runner and the London Marathon has always been on my to do list so when the opportunity arose to run in 2018 for EdUKaid I jumped at the chance!

The charity has been one that I have supported for a few years due to family links but it is the amazing work that EdUKaid do that has inspired me to raise as much money as possible for them

As a teacher I have a huge interest in education and I spend my daily life motivating (or at least attempting to motivate) every young person that I teach. In a week, that is around 200 children aged 11-16 that are dreaming big and working hard, most of the time, to achieve their goals.

However in Tanzania it is a very different story, the children still have dreams and still have the motivation to work hard but often many obstacles are in their way. This is what has lead me to want to fundraise for EdUKaid because I know that every pound that I raise will make a huge difference to the lives of these children. My goal is to raise £1500 which will pay for 1 teacher and 1 teaching assistant for an entire year and I know that when EdUKaid is able to employ these people it will motivate, inspire and allow many children to dream big just like the ones that I teach!
