EdUKaid Events

Helping out with fundraising events is a great way for anyone who’s interested in becoming concerned with a charity to have some fun whilst doing some good. There are lots of ways you can get involved. You can either organise something yourself, anything from a sponsored sporting challenge to a fun social event. If you don’t think you’ve got time to organise something yourself then just get involved with one of our upcoming events.

If you’re interested in getting involved please contact us or have a look at our EdUKaid Fundraising material. Feel free to e - mail fundraising@edukaid.com with any bright ideas and we will try to advise you on the best way forward. Below are brief details about past annual events to inspire you to get involved!

EdUKaid EventsEdUKaid 6’s and 7’s

Over the weekend of the 13th – 14th August 2006 EdUKaid held its third annual Rugby/ Football Tournament extravaganza at Wyvern School, Laverstock.

The events certainly brought out the best in the EdUKaid supporters. It was a chilly and blustery weekend but it did not people from turning out to keep up morale. Play was good natuared, the beer flowed, and the organic barbeque was a hit. It was a real testament to people’s dedication to the EdUKaid cause that everyone had a fantastic time and the atmosphere was resolutely upbeat, right down to the clearing up at the end!

EdUKaid Ball

The EdUKaid Ball is now a firm favourite social evening each year. The third ball took place at Salisbury Guildhall. We kicked off the evening with a glass of Pimms or two and cashew nuts fresh from Tanzania. The evening got off to a great start with some stunning video footage of the work we have done so far out in Tanzania. The food, an authentic “african style” dinner was provided by the African run Swahili Kitchen. Following on from this was our very successful auction of gifts and promises. This provided us all a chance to have fun and outbid each other to try to send as much money as possible out to support our projects.

We also have a regular Beer Festival and Barbeque. This takes place at the V&A pub in Netherhampton, just outside of Salisbury. The Beer is all from local brewerys and the food on an African theme. This is always a very popular event in the EdUKaid calandar. There are also several market stalls that run throughout the year.
