New Toilets and Improved Health for Pre-primaryJune 30 2017
Thanks to funding from The Herrod Foundation we have been able to build safe, age appropriate latrines at 4 of our partner schools. These latrines will dramatically improve the health and wellbeing of hundreds of young children and significantly improve their attendance at school.
Research tells us that diarrhoea caused by poor sanitation is the second biggest killer of young children in the developing world but is entirely preventable. Well maintained latrines can reduce the risk of diarrhoea by nearly 40% demonstrating the massive impact this project will have on the children of Mnaida, Mwenge, Singino and Namgogoli pre-primary classes. The local community at Mnaida turned out in force to help with the construction of the new latrines
