EdUKaid visits local primary schoolNovember 3 2014
In early October, EdUKaid’s Project Manager Clare visited Downton Primary School to tell them a little bit about EdUKaid and the area that EdUKaid work in, in Tanzania.
Having been studying Africa and Tanzania since the beginning of term, Class two were extremely knowledgeable on the topic and asked lots of questions. One child knew all the facts on the Coconut crab, the largest land crab known to live in Tanzania– these guys were experts.
They looked through pictures of primary school classrooms in Tanzania and identified all the differences they could spot comparing it to their classroom here in Downton.
A couple of weeks later we were invited to go-along and watch Class two taking on the equivalent of Mount Kilimanjaro. In pairs, and rotating every five minutes, the children were stepping up on benches in the school hall for 1 hour and 20 minutes. There were some very tired legs afterwards, but what a lovely way to raise awareness and support EdUKaid.
Asante sana Class Two for all of your hard work and effort, we really appreciate it!
