Our UK Team
Tim Varney - Chair of Trustees
Tim has been involved with the charity since it started in 2003. Although a volunteer he is very involved in the day to day running of the charity, its future direction and fundraising. Tim’s day job is as Managing Director of Revive Vending which supplies and services drink and snack vending machines throughout the south west of England. EdUKaid is given office space within Revive and is very much part of the furniture.
Tim travels to Tanzania at least twice a year, where he gets the opportunity to work with EdUKaid’s local Tanzanian staff.
Teresa Wells - Programmes Director
Teresa joined EdUKaid in July 2016 as Programme Director with responsibility for the overall management of the charity in the UK and supporting the team in Tanzania to deliver the charity’s projects.
Teresa has worked in the charity sector for over 20 years - mainly in the field of mental health in the UK and, in more recent years, as CEO for a welfare rights charity supporting disadvantaged individuals to protect their rights, speak up against social injustice and challenge discrimination. Teresa has recently completed her MSc in NGO Management at Cass Business School and has an academic background in social policy.
Teresa brings expertise in strategic planning to the charity along with skills in fundraising, project management and organisational development, passionately believing that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and a chance to live life to the full.
“My work always needs to be more than just a job so I love the fact that every penny we raise makes a difference – EdUKaid has established a truly amazing approach to supporting sustainable community development through its investment in developing the skills of local people and I am very proud to be part of it”
Sarah Varney - Volunteer Events Coordinator

Sarah began her work as a Trustee and Chair of the Fundraising Committee. She has enjoyed several roles over the years and has spent many happy visits working with the staff and the children in Tanzania.
"I particularly enjoyed singing nursery rhymes with the children at Mgao Primary School and helping the children in Singino Pre-Primary learn to write their letters”.

It's a nice addition to my day job, the images from Tanzania are a joy to work with and the branding of EdUKaid is fun towork with too.
